Oil on canvas
Painted 2001
50 x 60cm.
There are spectacular drifts of snowdrops at the National Trust house at Newark Park in the most wonderful setting on a cliff looking out over the valley of Ozleworth. In this view from one of the terraces below the house I tried to combine the intimacy of the snowdrops nestling in the grass with the drama of the location. The painting now hangs in the house itself as part of the collection of the present occupier www.michaelclaydon.co.uk
